What is answer engine optimization?
Answer engine optimization, or AEO, is work intended to make a brand or its content appear in answers from search and AI systems. Ahrefs describes it in terms of mentions, citations and recommendations; these are different outcomes and should be measured separately.
Mentions and citations are different
A brand mention names a business or product. A citation identifies a source, often with a link. When comparing training, ask which outcome the curriculum addresses rather than treating every appearance as a visit.
AEO and GEO can overlap
The directory retains the labels supported by each provider’s evidence. It does not assume that a confirmed AEO field automatically confirms GEO, or that a new name establishes a different teaching method.
Choose an AEO course by the task
An introductory course may explain discovery and citation mechanics; implementation training may require access to specific software. Compare prerequisites, format, documented topics and the time commitment before using price as the deciding factor.
